About Me

Demitra has been practicing physical therapy since 2016 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York Institute of Technology where she played and coached collegiate basketball. After graduating she went on to play professionally in Greece where she was also her team’s physical therapist. Demitra has experience in a wide range of physical therapy settings including long term care, hospital, worker’s comp, but her passion is outpatient orthopedics. She enjoys practicing physical therapy with a fitness forward approach that combines manual therapy and active movement in order to help you return to doing the things that you love or helping you start on the path to a healthier lifestyle. She prides herself in rehabilitating patients back to their full potential, and pre-injury level so they can enjoy life without fear or pain. Her continuing education includes; being certified in dry-needling, taking all the International Academy for Orthopedic medicine manual therapy classes, blood flow restriction therapy, and a variety of return to running and sports. Demitra prides herself in bringing new therapies to Seward; she introduced Blood Flow Restriction Therapy to Seward in 2020.  Demitra opened Seward Physical Therapy to create a healthier community and improve access to physical therapy treatment. She knows how much fun Alaska can be, and wants her patients to do all the activities they love doing pain free!  Demitra enjoys an active lifestyle including CrossFit, triathlons, hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, coaching basketball, running with her fiance', and playing with their dogs.
